Good Afternoon Goldminers!

SSG Sudtell here, this will be my last post on here as a 749 CSSB Admin.

Today, I attended the HHC’s CoC. Afterwards, I was recognized for my time with the 749th CSSB. Standing there today, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride, gratitude, and reflection. Fourteen years—it’s hard to believe that’s how long I have share time with some of you in this organization. In the Army, time moves fast, but in that span, we’ve lived through so many moments, forged unbreakable bonds, and built something that goes far beyond uniforms or duty. We’ve built a family.

To all the units I have served while in the 749th CSSB—thank you. Over the years, we’ve been tested, pushed to our limits, and asked to give more than we ever thought we could. But we’ve done it together. Whether it was during your deployments, training exercises that left us exhausted but unbroken, or in the quiet moments where we supported each other off the field, your resilience, courage, and loyalty have been my greatest inspiration.

To the leadership, I’ve had the privilege to work alongside some of the finest leaders in the entirety of this organization. Your guidance, mentorship, and trust in me have shaped who I am as a soldier and as a leader. I carry those lessons with me, and as I move forward, I hope to lead others with the same integrity and wisdom you’ve shown me.

The memories we’ve shared—the highs and lows, the victories, and the challenges—are etched in my heart. You’ve made this battalion a place where service became more than just a duty—it became a shared purpose.

To the younger soldiers, you are the future of this Battalion. You are capable of more than you realize, and you are standing in the company of warriors who will always have your back. Continue to push yourselves and lift each other up. Trust in your training, trust in your leaders, and most of all, trust in each other.

As I transfer to my new assignment, know that I will always carry the spirit of this Battalion with me. These past 14 years have been some of the most rewarding of my life, and though I may be moving on to a new chapter, this place—this family—will always be part of who I am.

Thank you for your camaraderie, your dedication, and for allowing me to serve with you. It has been the honor of a lifetime. I’ll see you all down the road—until then, keep pushing, keep fighting, and continue to make the 749 everything it has always been: the best.

Goldminers!

The 749th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion concluded a successful transfer of authority from the outgoing Battalion Commander, LTC Jose Dominguez, to the new Battalion Commander, MAJ Jason Confaloni this past Sunday. Change of Command ceremonies are rooted deep in tradition and signify the transfer of command authority from one commander to the next.

The Battalion thanks LTC Dominguez for his vision and leadership during his tenure while also wishing him success on his next assignment. We welcome in MAJ Confaloni as our new Goldminer 6!

The Goldminers wrapped up their final day of training at Camp San Luis Obispo with a moment of esprit de corps in order to recognize the hard work of some of the incredible Soldiers of the 749th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion.

Over the last 14 days, Soldiers of the 2632nd Transportation Company, 2668th Transportation Company, 1113th Transportation Company (Rear), and Headquarters Company conducted convoy operations from Oroville down to San Diego.

These Goldminers covered over 50k convoy miles, executed over 20 movement requests, supported nine units from the National Guard and Army Reserves and got back to basic Soldier tasks which included maintenance, land navigation, weapons qualification, radio/communications, physical readiness, and drivers training just to name a few.

Annual training is not over but it was great to recognize those individuals that stood out in mission ex*****on and leadership.

Great work Goldminers!

Goldminers from from the 2632nd, 2668th and 1113th Transportation Companies came together to convoy over 40k convoy miles over two days to reposition trailers across the state.

Working as a team requires synchronization, discipline and trust but their professionalism was on full display to accomplish the mission, as a team.

That is the “Gold Standard”!
