Waste Connections Update:
While we have made progress today, there are still multiple safety concerns, and several roadways remain unserviceable at this time due to drifting snow, ice, and overall road conditions. Safety remains our top priority for both our drivers and the communities we serve. Please notify residents to ensure their trash and cans are clear of snow and accessible from the roadway. We appreciate your patience and understanding as our crews continue to work through these challenging winter conditions. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need additional information 844-708-7274. Thank you

FROM WASTE CONNECTIONS:
Due to the current winter weather conditions, our area remains under a Tier 4 travel restriction. At this time, we have posted an update on our website indicating that operations are running one day behind schedule as conditions allow.

If the Tier 4 travel restriction is lifted, we will resume service as safely and efficiently as possible and continue working to catch up on delayed routes. Please note that even if the restriction is lifted, there may be certain roads we are unable to service due to drifting snow, icy conditions, or the significant amount of snowfall we have received. These conditions may make some areas unsafe or inaccessible for our trucks.

If the Tier 4 restriction is not lifted and we are unable to operate on Tuesday, we may need to consider collecting double the following week to account for the days that service could not be completed. This would only apply to the missed service days and would be communicated in advance should it become necessary.

Additionally, our automated call blast system is currently down due to the storm. As soon as it is repaired and back up and running, we will send a call blast to residents with updated service information.

Safety remains our top priority for our drivers, our customers, and the communities we serve. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we continue to monitor conditions and adjust operations accordingly.

With a winter storm in the forecast for this weekend, please follow the snow emergency procedure. We encourage residents not to park along the street, if applicable, to make it easier for the snowplowing process. Also, please remember to clear all sidewalks of snow and ice within 24 hours after the snow/ice has ceased to fall or form.

COMMENTS ARE BEING SHUT DOWN ON THIS POST ITS FYI ONLY....

For those following what Senator Mastriano is trying to do with Met Ed for those of us that lost power due to the Sub Station fire this past week. Met Ed did make a statement to CBS 21 News. Talk to your insurance company for your home owners insurance to find out what your deductible is and if it's worth filing a claim. Talk to Met Ed and see what is involved in filing a claim with them. It doesn't hurt to ask questions. FYI - I just tried calling and they are closed on the weekends so you need to call during regular business hours.

Good morning Upper Adams area.

While most of the power has been restored, the cooling center will remain open today 6-26-2025 until 9pm due to the high heat expected and some of the area still without power.

The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services will also be on site at the cooling center today from 9am-5pm to issue replacement SNAP benefits for SNAP recipients who have lost food as a result of the power outage.

Here’s a link to the replacement SNAP flyer:
