Exciting update to our fitness and swim schedules! As of Sept. 8, Juniper and Larkspur’s Fitness & Swim schedule are displayed separately. Spliting the the calendars by activity makes the schedules easier to use than ever and lets you choose Fitness or Swim on each facility’s webpage for a clearer, faster experience.

Get ready for some possible traffic impacts to your next visits to Juniper. Franklin Ave. construction updates from City of Bend:
-- Paving between 3rd St. and 8th St. was rescheduled to Sept. 8 - 9.
-- Beginning Sept. 14, there are Franklin Ave. closures and detours west of 3rd St., from 1st St. to Harriman.

We wanted to share an update with you about the Franklin Avenue Improvements Project. ​

Due to recent weather conditions, paving work on Franklin Avenue between NE Third Street and NE Eighth Street has been rescheduled to September 8-9, bringing temporary one-way traffic closures during construction. ​

The project is still on track to close the Franklin undercrossing to vehicles starting September 14 while crews complete major transportation and stormwater improvements. It will temporarily reopen from Thanksgiving Day through New Year’s Day. ​

Reminder that business access remains open and emergency access will be maintained. Also there will be access to a sidewalk for bike and pedestrian access.​

There's lots of new and updated classes and water fitness classes return to Larkspur after the pool maintenance closure. - Juniper Swim & Fitness Center: Open 12:00 - 4:30 p.m. with limited offerings during maintenance; check schedules on the Juniper webpage at bendparksandrec.org/juniper/

Well, this cooler weather is impacting Juniper's Outdoor Activity Pool schedule. Reminder - when temperatures are around 60 degrees or cooler, the activity pool is not open so check schedules prior to leaving. The Outdoor Activity Pool's last day of the season is Sept. 7. Juniper's and Larkspur's indoor pools remain open for play, rain or shine. Learn more at bendparksandrec.org/recswim

Hello, Lap Swimmers! Fall schedules begin Sept. 8. With the transition into the school year, more indoor lap swim opportunities will be added at Juniper. Lap Swim is available at both Juniper and Larkspur and the Larkspur pool is scheduled to reopen on Sept. 10 after the current maintenance closure. Check the Lap Swim schedules for details at bendparksandrec.org/lapswim.

What a blast! BPRD’s annual Kids' Triathlon was a big success on Sunday, August 23. Sixty-five young triathletes swam, biked and ran at Juniper Swim and Fitness Center and the beautiful Juniper Park. The kids had a great time, evidenced by their smiles and high-fives! A big thank you to our participants' supportive families and friends and BPRD's rock star volunteers who helped with event set up and along the course and cheered everyone on.
