On Tuesday, September 8, our lunch program will be a presentation from Ron Federspiel, our club’s Bill Berg foundation board president.

As well, we’ll have a slideshow presentation on the Peru Friendship Exchange given by Patty Dempsey.

The Bill Berg Foundation supports scholarships, the Gift of Literacy program, youth activities, our club’s world community service committee, the Bend/Belluno Exchange Program, and Signature Projects. Come learn about the history of the foundation, the scholarships and programs it supports, and more.

On Tuesday, August 18, our lunch program will be a presentation from Zachary Bass, Redmond Airport Director.

Mr. Bass is currently and has been the Redmond Airport Director for the past 11 years. He oversees all operations, security and safety that take place on the third largest commercial airport in Oregon.

He leads a 50+ person team to ensure the safety of 1.4 million commercial passengers and 100 thousand aircraft operations annually.

On Tuesday, August 11, our lunch program will be a presentation from Tracy Bain from the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Oregon & Southwest Washington, with a presentation entitled “Trust Your Gut”.

Tracy was diagnosed at the age of 27 with a rare form of ovarian cancer. She was fortunate to make a full recovery, but realized how isolating this disease can be for women, and dismayed at how little information is provided to women on ovarian cancer symptom awareness even in the doctor’s office.

Tracy started volunteering with the Survivors Teaching Students program run by the national Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance to teach students about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer first hand.
