On August 10, President Biden signed the PACT Act into law. This law helps millions of Veterans and their survivors by:

· Extending VA health care eligibility for Veterans with toxic exposures and Veterans of the Vietnam, Gulf War, and Post-9/11 (Post-September 11, 2001) eras

· Expanding benefits eligibility for Veterans exposed to toxic substances and their survivors

How to Apply for PACT Act Benefits

· We want Veterans and survivors to apply now for their PACT Act-related benefits. You can learn more and sign up at va.gov/PACT or call us at 1-800-MyVA411 (1-800-698-2411).

· If you need help applying for benefits, VA-accredited representatives and Veteran Service Officers are always standing by and ready to help. There’s no cost for the forms, no fees to apply, and VA will never charge Veterans for processing a claim.

Tips to Avoid PACT Act Scams

· Scammers are taking advantage of new opportunities to commit fraud. There’s been an increase in PACT Act-related phishing (email), vishing (phone), and social media scamstargeting Veterans to access their PACT Act benefits or submit claims on their behalf.

· Veterans should be cautious of anyone who guarantees a lucrative financial benefit or service. To report suspected fraudulent activity, please contact atmailto:[email protected] or call 1-800-488-8244.

Protect yourself against new scams with these tips:

· Do not provide personal, benefits, medical, or financial details online or over the phone. Federal agencies will not contact you unless you make a request.

· Do not click on online ads or engage with social media that seem suspicious.

· Check for “https://” at the start of website addresses.

· Enable multi-factor authentication on all accounts.

· Work with Veteran service providers you already know.

· Submit any suspected fraud to ReportFraud.ftc.gov.

Friends, families, and of course Veterans of Redmond, Central Oregon
VFW Post 4108 Commander speaking on this “particular post”. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines imposed upon the State of Oregon by the State of Oregon’s .... leadership... the Veterans Parade which has always been held on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month will not be hosted/ organized by the city of Redmond this year, not their fault please don’t get mad at the mayor. However, incase you’ve haven’t seen the praise and Honor that our local community graces their local Veterans with....... the VFW Post 4108 decided to do it anyway. That being said, 11/11/2020 at the same staging area on the corner of 6th Street and Dogwood Ave. (across the street from the Black Bear Diner)the same time as every year 11 AM, we are going to launch hopefully an even bigger “parade type procession” to Honor our Veterans of our great country who served honorably and put forth the sacrifice that they and their families have endured in order to preserve the freedoms that many American Patriots still want to preserve. As the Commander of Post 4108, Flag City, U.S.A, I’m asking everyone who reads this to spread the word with all of your friends and anyone who wants to join in this “parade-type procession with complete social distance guidelines strictly adhered to”. We hope enthusiasts of the motorcycle community, the equestrian community, the agricultural community , as well as our local business communities come together, and get this going. Share it, tag it, and spread the hell out of it. Redmond Oregon, like the 4th of July, will still have our Veterans Day. Thank you And God Bless.

VA Transitions Urgent Care in 13 States to Enhance Veteran Access
CCN 4
VA is making it even easier for thousands of eligible Veterans in the 13 western states to find an in-network urgent care provider as it transitions to the new Community Care Network (CCN) in Region 4 today, September 30, 2020.

If you experience non-life threatening minor injuries – such as skin infections, a sore throat or a cold – you can receive urgent care at the right time and place for you with the right provider. Read below for details on eligibility and how to find an in-network provider.

Use our Quick Start Guide for a step-by-step process how to access urgent care.

To be eligible for urgent care, Veterans must:

Be enrolled in VA health care, AND
Have received care through VA from either a VA medical facility or a community provider with an approved referral within the past 24 months.

Urgent Care
IMPORTANT: Urgent Care is Not a Replacement for Preventive or Emergency Care
VA’s goal is for the transition to be seamless for Veterans. Although urgent care benefits available to eligible Veterans are not changing with CCN, you may have enhanced in-network access since new community providers may be added to the contracted network while a small number may be removed.

VA can only pay for urgent care if the provider is part of our contracted network. Veterans should always confirm an urgent care community provider is in VA’s network prior to receiving care.

Veterans should use VA’s facility locator or contact their local VA medical facility for help to identify in-network urgent care providers.

VA FACILITY LOCATOR

REMEMBER: It is also important to conduct a new search using the VA locator each time prior to seeking urgent care services or pharmacies
Urgent care prescriptions must be filled in the same state where you received urgent care services. Search for an approved pharmacy in the same state where you receive urgent care to ensure your prescription is filled and claims processes correctly.
