Honoring Deputy Adam Sherifi
2026 Hogfest Parade Honorary Grand Marshal • In Memoriam

This Saturday, we will honor the life and service of Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Sherifi by recognizing him as the Honorary Grand Marshal of our Hogfest parade.

Deputy Sherifi served alongside our firefighters on emergency scenes, making this loss deeply personal to many within our department and throughout our community. He was a fellow first responder, a neighbor, and a valued member of the community we all call home.

As we gather for this year’s parade, we invite you to join us in honoring his service, remembering his sacrifice, and keeping his family, friends, and fellow officers in your prayers.

Deputy Sherifi, we are grateful for your service. Your memory will hold a place of honor in Ben Wheeler.

Please be in prayer for the victims, their families and community. Our hearts are heavy this morning for this tragic loss of life and praying for healing for those affected!

Today is not the day! Please don’t underestimate your ability to contain and please follow the TCEQ restrictions. The fine is hefty but loss of life, property or homes can far outweigh it.
