Press Release – April 12, 2026

Deputies and officers of the Belzoni Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired on Silver City Road in Belzoni late on April 11.

Upon arrival, officers located multiple individuals with gunshot wounds. At least five individuals were injured, and one person was pronounced deceased.

The scene was secured, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 662-247-2551.
