National Corrections Officers and Employees Week was established in 1984 by President Ronald Reagan to recognize the difficult and often dangerous assignment of ensuring the custody, safety and well-being of the inmates in our nation’s prisons and jails.

The Warren County Board of County Commissioners recently issued a proclamation designating May 3-9 as Corrections Officers and Employees Week in Warren County and presented it to several employees of the Warren County Correctional Center.

"This proclamation is to recognize and honor all the men and women who work at the Warren County Correctional Facility. Their professionalism, bravery, and attention to detail play a huge part in keeping our County and citizens safe," Commissioner Director Lori Ciesla said, adding, "It’s a difficult job and it takes a lot of courage to do it, we are very thankful for their service to our county."
