Congratulations to Firefighter Alec Conway for being cut loose as an Engine Drive for Company 841. The driver training process takes months. This process involves numerous training evolutions and significant practice before a firefighter is ready to drive. Firefighters are trained to quickly calculate how much water a fire hydrant has and how to maximize it for your emergency. This process and training ensures that our citizens get timely and effective response on all emergencies!

While the Prince George’s County Firefighters from Station 841 Calverton understand the need for social distancing, we were very happy to respond to a call for a dog trapped in a vehicle today! Crews rescued Jewel the 13 year old jack russell terrier from her vehicle (her owner accidentally locked her in), and completely disregarded all social distancing procedures while spending some time with the pup! #841 #1619
