The CENTEX Regional Advisory Council (RAC) is an organization comprised of local hospitals, EMS agencies, Fire Departments, County and City Offices of Emergency Management, and other health care providers that proudly serve the six counties located in Trauma Service Area L: Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, Milam, Mills. The CENTEX RAC was formed in order to provide the infrastructure and leaders

hip necessary to sustain an inclusive trauma system within our Trauma Service Area by the following actions: Assist member organizations in achieving the highest level of trauma care they are capable of providing, which will result in a decrease in morbidity and mortality and ultimately improve the injured patient's outcome; Encourage activities designed to promote cooperation between member organizations and provide a forum to resolve conflicts regarding the care of the injured patient; Provide and facilitate educational programs for the public to increase awareness regarding an inclusive trauma system with a heavy emphasis on prevention activities; Develop, acquire and operate facilities to enhance the provision of trauma and emergency care in TSA L. The RAC also provides coordination of acute medical services in the mass casualty and disaster settings.

🩸 A New Lifesaving Advancement for Coryell Health EMS 🩸

We're proud to share that Coryell Health EMS is now carrying whole blood in the field, bringing an advanced level of emergency care directly to patients when it matters most.

For patients experiencing severe blood loss, receiving whole blood before arriving at the hospital can improve outcomes and provide a critical bridge to definitive care.

This achievement would not be possible without the support and collaboration of our incredible partners throughout the region. Thank you to the agencies, providers, hospital teams, and state legislators who helped make this program a reality.

Together, we're advancing emergency care in our region and improving outcomes for the patients in communities we serve.

Pre-hospital whole blood transfusion has now officially begun in the CENTEX region. Through the dedication and collaboration of our participating EMS agency partners, along with the exceptional support, vision, and leadership of the staff, administrators, and medical directors at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple, this capability has become a reality for our region.
This milestone represents a significant advancement in trauma and emergency care and is the result of extensive planning, coordination, and commitment from numerous stakeholders. What was once viewed by some as an ambitious or unattainable goal has now been successfully implemented, providing our pre-hospital providers with a critical resource to improve care for patients experiencing life-threatening hemorrhage and other severe emergencies.
This achievement demonstrates what can be accomplished through strong partnerships, shared vision, and a steadfast commitment to improving patient outcomes. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, expertise, and support to making this program a reality for the citizens and responders of the CENTEX region.
