I've got some very exciting news! I have some very important news to share. We've been debating whether to post about it or not, but I believe it's time. First off, we'll be keeping our status with our organization as a 501c3, and nothing will be changing on that side - our logo and name will stay the same. I've been getting too many calls, and it's been a decision we've thought very long and hard about. I know it's the right decision right now; it's weighing heavily on my heart, but I know it's the right thing to do. I've decided that we'll be focusing solely on rescuing tortoises and different species of turtles. We'll be moving forward with getting all the proper permits we need for the future. I made this big change because there's a huge demand for helping these animals, and there's a significant need across various turtle species. We'll be keeping all the non-releasable deer here at the sanctuary so they can live out their lives here where they're well taken care of. I just think there's more of a need for tortoises and turtles right now. It was a hard decision because I do love my fawns and deer. Maybe later down the road I can get back to doing it. For now, I want to concentrate on tortoises and turtles. I'm still here to help anyone who needs it; I have numbers lined up for you to call for help with fawns. I also recommend Animal Help Now to help you find a placement. Just make sure they're a licensed rescue, and don't hand them over to just anyone - do your research on them. They're very fragile animals and need proper care. I'm just not taking them in right now. Thank you all for your support over the last 10 years. I hope I still have everyone's support with this big change. I've done a lot of praying and had many sleepless nights coming up with what to do. I truly think I'm making the right decision by following my heart. Again, all the animals we have at the sanctuary will live the rest of their lives here, so we'll still need your support towards their care. Right now, all my energy is going into building the proper enclosures for the tortoises and turtles here at the sanctuary. Thanks to everyone who's been there for everything! We have a really big road ahead of us now. We've housed over 30-plus tortoises and turtles here at the sanctuary, and it's still climbing! I'm blessed by the people who help out all these amazing creatures here. We're so thankful for everything! We still need your support through all the changes. We still have adult deer here at the sanctuary, and all the ones coming up from the past we still give a little snack to. So, we still need all the help we can get to make everything look and move very smoothly! I am truly blessed to have a community and friends that support us here at the Sanctuary! Please say a little extra prayer for us making this decision and moving forward. It's so very hard when the fawns and deer are my world! Just a few pictures of the tortoises and turtles we have at the sanctuary!
