Well deserved, Ethan!

At City Council meeting, Parks employee Ethan Van der Plas was just recognized with a Lifesaver Award from Belton FD & PD.
On May 22, Ethan was working near Nolan Creek when a woman jumped from the Penelope bridge into the rainswollen creek.
Ethan saw the woman in distress and jumped in and pulled her to safety.

Take It Back to the Old Skool!

Ready to learn the game, sharpen your skills, and have some fun on the pitch? Join us for the Old Skool Rugby Camp on June 27 from 12:00–3:00 PM at Harris Community Park!

Whether you're brand new to rugby or have years of experience, this camp is designed for all ages and skill levels. Participants will learn fundamentals, improve techniques, build confidence, and enjoy a great afternoon of rugby with fellow players and fans.

🎣 FREE FISHING DAY TODAY ONLY! 🎣

Have you been looking for an excuse to spend some time outdoors? Texas Parks & Wildlife's annual Free Fishing Day is TODAY, Saturday, June 6, which means anyone can fish in Texas public waters without a fishing license for the day! All other fishing regulations still apply.

Right here in Belton, you've got two great local options:
🐟 Cast a line along the Leon River
🐟 Try your luck in Nolan Creek

Whether you're a seasoned angler or introducing a child to fishing for the very first time, Free Fishing Day is the perfect opportunity to unplug, enjoy nature, and make some memories.

Don't have fancy gear? No problem. Grab a pole, some bait, and a little patience—sometimes the best catches are the stories you bring home.

Harris Community Splash Pad is up and running, folks! All pavilion reservations are good and parents can breathe again.

Operating hours at both Harris & Tiger Splash Pads:
Tues-Sun: 10AM - 8PM
Mondays: 1PM-8PM

Splash pad operations aren't for the faint of heart and we thank you for your patience as the Parks crew worked through the mechanical issues this past week!

💦 Splash Pad Update 💦

Well... the replacement part our team picked up yesterday had other plans. 😞 Unfortunately, it did not solve the issue, and the Harris Community Splash Pad is now closed until further notice while we continue troubleshooting and making repairs.

We know this is disappointing, especially with temperatures climbing and summer in full swing. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to get the water flowing again.

In the meantime, it might be a good day to dust off the backyard sprinkler, break out the water balloons, or challenge the kids to a hose-powered obstacle course at home. 🌞🚿

We'll share updates as soon as we have them. Thank you for hanging in there with us—we're just as eager to see the splash pad back in action as you are!
