🚨 Outdoor Warning Siren Test Update 🚨

Due to the inclement weather last Wednesday, we postponed the test to this morning. You may have noticed the sirens did not sound at the usual 11:00 AM time today.

We will be conducting the routine monthly test at 11:30 AM instead to ensure functionality.

This is only a test - no action is needed.

As always, remember:
🔊 Outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert people outdoors
📱 Have multiple ways to receive warnings (weather apps, NOAA Weather Radio, etc.)

Thanks for your understanding!

🚨 Siren Test Postponed 🚨

Due to current and expected severe weather, today’s outdoor warning siren test is postponed to next Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

If sirens sound, assume it’s real:
➡️ Seek shelter immediately
➡️ Get to your safe place
➡️ Check trusted sources for updates

🤔 “So… are they still working?”
Yep. We’re still running quiet tests and system checks - just without sounding them.

🔊 Sirens = for people outdoors
📱 Have multiple ways to get warnings

Stay weather aware, Belton.

The previously rescheduled Outdoor Warning Siren Test (moved from March 4 to today, March 11) has been cancelled due to weather conditions.

To help minimize confusion, sirens will not be tested during periods of unsettled weather. If conditions were to worsen, we want residents to take protective action and not assume the sirens are “just a test.”

The next monthly test of the Outdoor Warning Siren System will take place Wednesday, April 1 at 11:00 AM. 🌪️

Please continue to stay weather aware today. 🌩️

Due to weather conditions, the City of Belton’s monthly outdoor warning siren test has been postponed and will now take place on Wednesday, March 11. Although severe weather is not expected around 11:00 AM, cloudy and rainy conditions combined with the high visibility of the scheduled test could have caused unnecessary concern.

The Missouri Statewide Tornado Drill scheduled for today has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

Even though the drill will not take place today, organizations, schools, businesses, and families are encouraged to practice their severe weather plans at a time that works best for them.

Take a few minutes today to review:
✔ Your tornado safe place (interior room, lowest level, away from windows)
✔ How you receive weather alerts
✔ Your family or workplace severe weather plan
