📚Start the School Year with the Full Picture!

Grades are important, but they do not always tell the full story of how a child is doing in school.

While 88% of Wisconsin parents believe their children are reading at grade level, only 32% of Beloit students are meeting grade-level expectations in English language arts.

Start the school year strong by looking at grades, state test results, classwork, and feedback from your child’s teacher.

Visit GoBeyondGrades.org/Beloit for free tools and resources to help you understand your child’s progress.

Our Executive Director and Foster Grandparent Program Volunteers attended the Rock County Poverty Simulation hosted by Rock County Wisconsin Public Health.

We learned that 51% of Rock County residents age 65+ may earn more than the Federal Poverty Level, but less than the basic cost of living in Rock County and are therefore not eligible for many government or private benefits.

What can you do to help?

Volunteer at RSVP to be a driver, providing free transportation to essential medical and health related appointments as well as providing trips to the grocery store. All of our transportation services are free to the rider, working to reduce financial barriers for older adults.

Sign up as a volunteer today at www.rsvp-rock.org!
