Unofficial Belmont election results are in.

For the Democratic primary:
U.S. Senate: Ed Markey 3,568 - Seth Moulton 2,238

District Attorney: Marian Ryan 4,336 - David Solet 904

State Representative: Dave Rogers 3,462 - Nomita Ganguly 2,043

State Senate: Will Brownsberger 3,974 - Daniel Lander 1,793

The race for the 5th U.S. House District seat was called in favor of incumbent Katherine Clark. She beat two challengers, Jonathan Paz of Waltham and Tarik Samman of Cambridge. She handily won Belmont, 4,300 votes to Paz's 913 and Samman's 325.

Governor's Council: Incumbent Mara Dolan 3,496-Margie Palladino 1,067

For the Republican primary:
Governor: Michael Minogue 445 - Brian Shortsleeve 184.

Turnout was 33%, or 6,577 of the more than 19,000 registered Belmont voters cast ballots.

Remember, these are preliminary results and apply only to Belmont. We will update outcomes as they become available.

Belmont finally completed everything it needs to do to start building the Community Path! Now the State starts sending out bids to contractors. Bravo to all the stakeholders, residents, abutters, and community leaders and politicians who made this possible. I’m proud to have supported the community path in my six years of town meeting (as a voting member). This a massive decade long achievement that will help revitalize Belmont economically, build interconnected communities, and help meet our clean energy goals.

Beginning Thursday, August 13 and continuing Friday, August 14, the town of Belmont’s general contractor Newport Construction will pave Concord Avenue from Common Street to the Cambridge line. Residents should seek alternate routes and parking during the hours of 7 AM to 4 PM.

No Free Lunch, Belmont Seniors and families with young kids shouldn’t be forced to pick up the slack from the Belmont Country Club. Everyone needs to pay their fair share. The Belmont Country Club had refused to do a PILOT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) with the town and have exploited a tax loophole. We should work with our state representatives to fix this glaring oversight. No Free Lunch!
