At last night’s Council Meeting, Mayor Caitlin Donovan and the Belmar Council proudly presented resolutions honoring individuals whose extraordinary service has made a lasting impact on our community:
Police Chief Tina Scott — Celebrating 25 years with the Belmar Police Department. Chief Scott joined the department in 2001, became Belmar’s first female Police Chief in 2020 and now serves as President of the Monmouth County Chiefs of Police Association.
Eugene “Chip” Cavanagh Jr. — Honored for 50 years of active fire service, including leadership as Department Chief, longtime service as President of Goodwill Hose Company and work as a fire academy instructor.
Fire Chief Sean Pringle — Recognized for his many years of leadership, skill and community spirit, including five terms as Department Chief and multiple terms as First and Second Assistant Chief.
James Alburtus — Celebrating 50 years of service to Goodwill Hose Company through leadership, fellowship and invaluable work preserving and renovating the firehouse.
Glenn Pringle — Honored for 50 years of active fire service, including service as Department Chief, fire academy instructor and founding work with the Belmar Fire Prevention Bureau.
William D. Aker — Celebrating 50 years of active fire service, including service as Department Chief, fire academy instructor and more than 27 years as Treasurer of Goodwill Hose Company.
Thomas “Tim” McGuire — Recognized for 50 years of service and leadership, including more than three decades as Secretary of Goodwill Hose Company.
Timothy Whitley — Honored for an incredible 64 years of service to the Belmar Fire Department, following his honorable service in the United States Navy. His decades of leadership include serving as Department Chief and guiding the department through major emergencies.
