It is with great sadness that we share the passing of former South Belmar Police Chief Paul Whille, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
Chief Whille dedicated his life to serving and protecting the Borough of South Belmar, now known as Lake Como, on the Police, Fire and First Aid departments. He served as Police Chief from 1986 until his retirement in 2000. His commitment, leadership, and unwavering sense of duty left a lasting impact on the community he cared so deeply about. He will be remembered not only for his service, but for the respect, strength, and compassion he showed to those around him.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him.
