We had the best time at our 5th annual Summer Reading Club Kick-Off! Thank you to the families, non-profits, and local businesses who joined us for our biggest celebration yet! We’ll post some highlights soon. Children, teens, and adults are invited to sign up for this year’s Unearth a Story themed summer reading clubs starting on June 1. Track your reading on ReadSquared, earn prizes, enter raffles and join us for special programs all summer long!

This Saturday is our Summer Reading Club Kick-Off! The parking lot will be closed off from 11am-1pm for a DJ, face painting, petting zoo, ice cream truck giving away free desserts (while supplies last), free raffles, refreshments, giveaways, games, and more. We hope to see you there!

Since yesterday’s parade was canceled due to poor weather, BML staff donned their parade outfits today for a group photo in honor of Memorial Day and America’s 250th birthday celebration. Keep an eye out for America-themed programs happening this summer at BML and other libraries throughout Nassau!

We recently visited Grand Avenue Middle School to talk to students about the Teen Summer Reading Club, summer programs, and community service opportunities!

For the 2026 Summer Reading Club, teens are asked to submit book reviews. Every review submitted counts as an entry into the grand prize raffle drawing for Beats Solo 4 Headphones!
