Today, we gather together to celebrate the birth of our great nation, the United States of America. On this special day, we remember the brave men and women who fought and sacrificed for the freedoms we hold dear.

The 4th of July is not just about fireworks and barbecues, it's a reminder of the values that make our country truly exceptional. It's a day to reflect on the principles of liberty, equality, and justice that have guided us through the years.

We must also recognize the importance of unity. Despite our differences, we are all Americans, bound together by a common purpose and shared values. It is our duty to foster understanding and respect among one another.

Today, we honor the men and women who serve in our armed forces, protecting our freedom at home and abroad. Their bravery and sacrifice deserve our utmost gratitude. Let us never forget the sacrifices they make and support them in any way we can.

As we celebrate today, let us also remember the challenges we face as a nation. We must strive to uphold the ideals that our founding fathers envisioned. Together, we can build a brighter future for generations to come.

So, as we enjoy the festivities and come together as a community, let us remember the true meaning of the 4th of July. It is a day to celebrate our past, embrace our present, and work towards a better tomorrow.

Thank you, and may God bless you all, and may God continue to bless the United States of America. Happy 4th of July!"

Did you know that in 1975 Hull Technician 3rd Class Donna Tobias made history when she became the first woman to graduate from the Navy’s Deep Sea Diving School as the Navy’s first female hard hat diver. ⛑️🤿

She chose the rate of a hull technician when her recruiter told her, “No way, women can’t get in” as a diver. With persistence she worked for a waiver to attend dive school.
After graduation, without the ability to get sea duty orders at the time, her first assignment was as an instructor at Submarine Escape Training Tank based in Submarine Naval Base New London. Tobias was involved in search and salvage operations in Long Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean, and participated in the sinking of a World War II ship to construct an artificial reef in Chesapeake Bay. 🪸🚢

The Oath of Enlistment is an oath taken by most enlisted members of the United States military at the time of their entry into service. It is a solemn commitment to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

The exact wording of the oath varies slightly depending on the branch of service, but generally goes something like this:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

This oath is taken with great ceremony and significance, and is intended as a reminder to servicemembers of the gravity of their commitment to their country and to the Constitution.
