Lithium-ion batteries power many of the devices we use every day โ phones, laptops, e-bikes, power tools, and toys. But when used improperly or damaged, these batteries can overheat, catch fire, or even explode.

Look for safety certifications when purchasing batteries or battery-powered devices such as UL, ETL, or CSA.
๐. ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐ ๐ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐๐๐ซ๐
- Use the charger that came with the device or one recommended by the manufacturer.
- Charge batteries on a hard, flat surface โ not on beds, couches, or under pillows.
- Donโt overcharge. Unplug the device or remove the battery when itโs fully charged.

Never toss lithium-ion batteries in the trash or standard recycling bins. Take them to a proper battery recycling center. Visit call2recycle.org to find a recycling spot near you.
