If your church is asking how to love your neighbors in practical ways, this may be a helpful next step.

The Kingdom Causes Bellflower Church Cohort is designed for churches that want to grow in mercy and justice work through learning, relationship-building, and practical community engagement.

Throughout the year, cohort churches connect with local providers, learn alongside peer churches, and develop projects focused on serving real needs within their neighborhoods.

Some churches join with established outreach ministries. Others are simply beginning to ask important questions about how to serve their communities more intentionally.

Both belong here.

Good intentions become stronger when they’re paired with learning, listening, and partnership.

At Kingdom Causes Bellflower, we believe churches can make an even greater impact when they build relationships with local providers, understand the needs around them, and work alongside others already serving the community.

That’s why the Church Cohort focuses on practical learning, collaboration, and sustainable care.

Over the past year, participating churches explored ways to better connect neighbors with resources such as food support, housing assistance, employment opportunities, and relational care.

When churches and community partners work together, support systems become stronger, and neighbors are less likely to fall through the cracks.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our annual Good Soil Industries Camping Trip happen!

This year's trip was our biggest and best yet, with more participants, more laughter, more memories, more real conversations, and more opportunities to build the kind of community that changes lives.

From those who donated funds, supplies, and food, to those who volunteered, prayed, helped with transportation, and encouraged us along the way, thank you. This trip would not have been possible without you.

At Good Soil Industries, we believe transformation happens through relationships. For a few days, we were able to step away from the normal routines of life and work, enjoy God's creation, share meals around the campfire, fish, raft, laugh, worship, and simply do life together.

Thank you for investing in the men and women of GSI. Your support helped create an experience filled with joy, encouragement, belonging, and hope.

We truly are better together.

Huge thank you to Bellflower Brethren Church for hosting a hygiene kit packing party last Sunday!

So many people came together to help pack kits that will go directly to neighbors in need throughout our community. Simple things like soap, toothpaste, deodorant, and basic hygiene supplies can make a big difference in helping people feel cared for, seen, and valued.

Special thanks as well to Pastor Tom for his years of constant support, leadership, and heart for serving the community. Really grateful for churches like Bellflower Brethren that continue to show up, serve well, and love people in practical ways.

A grant can help launch a project, but the learning behind it matters just as much.

As part of the Church in the City Cohort, participating churches spend the year learning from providers, community leaders, and one another before developing project ideas for potential micro-grant funding.

These grants (up to $10,000) help churches move thoughtful ideas into practical action.

For some churches, that may mean strengthening a volunteer care ministry. For others, it could look like improving how neighbors connect to local resources or creating a more sustainable neighborhood support effort.

But the real goal is bigger than funding.

It’s helping churches build wisdom, relationships, and long-term strategies for serving people well.

We’re excited to celebrate this year’s projects soon and grateful for the churches investing deeply in their communities.

Today, we celebrate the moms, grandmothers, foster moms, spiritual moms, aunties, mentors, and all the women who show up with love, sacrifice, strength, and care for others every single day.

From sleepless nights with newborns to praying over grown kids, giving rides, making meals, offering hugs, and holding families together in quiet ways that often go unseen… thank you. We see you, and we honor you.

Whether you’re celebrating your mom, grieving one, stepping into motherhood, or simply thankful for the women who helped shape your life, we hope today is filled with love, appreciation, and a little extra rest if possible. 💛

Local churches are already caring for their neighbors, and the Church in the City Cohort helps them go deeper.

At Kingdom Causes Bellflower, this cohort is not just a class or a one-time training. It’s a year-long learning community where churches come together to listen, ask questions, build relationships, and grow in practical mercy and justice work.

Throughout the year, churches hear from local providers, connect with organizations already serving the community, and learn alongside other churches facing similar questions.

Sometimes that looks like improving a church’s outreach process. Other times, it means building referral relationships with local housing or food providers, or shaping a neighborhood care idea into something sustainable and long-term.

We believe churches are strongest when they don’t have to do this work alone.
