The City of Bellevue is partnering with BEST (Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking) to provide free human trafficking awareness training to our business community. Building on previous training efforts conducted in collaboration with Bellevue Police Department, the City has contracted BEST to provide both virtual and in person trainings for Bellevue businesses. Safety continues to be a priority for our community, and this training will support that commitment during the upcoming global sporting event taking place in the region and beyond.

Bellevue has purchased 1,000 virtual training spots, which participants can take at their convenience. In addition, an in-person training and Q&A session have been scheduled for June 1st at 11am at Bellevue City Hall. A Bellevue Police representative will also be in attendance, to provide guidance on how to appropriately report suspected trafficking.

The City of Bellevue celebrated the graduation of Startup425 Accelerator Cohort 4 on May 12. The 15-week educational program helps entrepreneurs quickly develop business ideas and gain essential skills. Startup425 is a partnership among six Eastside cities and aims to grow regional entrepreneurship. The cohort wrapped up with a Demo Day and graduation at Renton Technical College, featuring welcoming remarks from Renton Mayor Armondo Pavone and presentations from seven founders. Graduates will now apply what they learned to their emerging businesses. Startup425 plans to add additional accelerator cohorts through 2026, with applications opening soon.

It’s National Apprenticeship Week April 26-May 2nd!

Registered Apprenticeships provide paid, on-the-job training that helps employers build the skilled workforce they need while giving career seekers a direct path to in-demand, well-paying careers.

Bellevue is home to leading companies in high-demand industries and a strong pipeline of local talent—apprenticeships can help bring the two together.

From advanced manufacturing to tech, healthcare, and beyond, apprenticeships help close the gap between education and employment.

The City of Bellevue is updating its parking regulations to comply with new state law, which limits minimum parking requirements for residential and commercial development. Bellevue wants to hear from businesses before making recommendations to the Planning Commission and City Council. Take the survey and make sure your voice is heard! Survey closes on April 17.
