24 Years Later - We Remember
On September 11, 2001, I was in New York City visiting friends in my old apartment. It’s a day that will be etched in my memory forever. The shock, the silence, the chaos… and then, the overwhelming courage, compassion, and unity that followed.
As someone who lived in NYC and experienced that day firsthand, I carry those memories with me always. And as a candidate for school board, I believe it’s vital that we continue to teach the next generation about the resilience, sacrifice, and strength that rose from the actions of that day.
Today, we honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the countless families whose lives were changed forever, and the brave first responders who ran toward danger to help others.
We remember. We reflect. We move forward - together.

What a full and inspiring weekend connecting with our community!
On Friday, I joined a small gathering at Kelsey Creek Park where we had thoughtful conversations about BSD’s financial challenges, our commitment to academic excellence, and how 4 of our high schools made the US News & World Report Top 10 in Washington — a huge achievement!
Saturday was the Wilburton Community Association Picnic — right here in my neighborhood. It was great to see so many neighbors and fellow candidates out engaging with the community. A highlight for me? Talking with high school students collecting signatures to bring financial literacy into the curriculum — an amazing example of student voice in action.
Feeling energized and grateful to be part of such a passionate and engaged community!

The recent update to BSD Policy 3210P marks an important moment for our district’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and student safety.

I want to highlight and commend the decision to reference the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism in the updated policy. This is a critical step toward ensuring that antisemitism is properly understood, named, and addressed within our schools.

In recent years, we've seen a rise in antisemitic incidents across the country—including in schools. It’s not enough to talk about inclusion in broad terms. Our policies must explicitly recognize and address all forms of hate - including antisemitism - so that every student and family feels safe and respected.

Fighting antisemitism must be part of our equity work. It’s not separate from inclusion—it’s essential to it. Because a truly inclusive district doesn’t leave any community behind.

As a school board candidate, I fully support this move. Antisemitism must be addressed with the same seriousness and urgency as all other forms of discrimination.

We all have a role to play in creating a safer, more just learning environment - and that starts with listening, learning, and leading with integrity.

Happy Labor Day!
Today, we honor the workers - past and present - who built our schools, communities, and future.
As a candidate for Bellevue school district school board, I believe every student deserves a quality education and every educator in school staff member deserves respect, fair wages, and safe working conditions.
This Labor Day, I am proud to stand with :
Teachers shaping young minds
Custodians keeping our school safe
Bus driver is getting students to class
Cafeteria workers feeding our children
Paraeducator‘s supporting Learning
All the workers who make education possible!
Let’s build a school system that values people as much as performance.

I appreciated the wonderful opportunity to meet Newport High School families at a back to school event in Wilburton Park! I enjoyed speaking with returning parents, parents new to the school as well as students about topics that included the upcoming levy, MLL testing, student engagement and the basics of how schools are funded in Washington state. Thank you to everyone for our interesting discussions. If you have any topics you’re concerned about or would like more information on, feel free to DM me or check out my website!

It was amazing to participate in the Jubilee Reach Service Day with a THOUSAND other volunteers at most of the Bellevue School District schools. I am in awe of the number of people working together with district educators and staff to prepare school for our students. I was on outdoor duty at Ardmore Elementary pulling ivy and cutting back overgrowth. Thanks to everyone for all their hard work in supporting the BSD!
