The City of Bellevue has received a few reports of tree damage in parts of our community following recent storms. While reports were not widespread, the City wants to provide residents with an opportunity to dispose of storm-related tree debris.

With that in mind, the City will open its tree dump to Bellevue residents beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, and continuing through dusk on Tuesday, June 16. The tree dump, located off Cedar Island Road near Rose Lane, will be open during daylight hours both days.

This is a great opportunity for Bellevue residents to dispose of tree limbs, branches, and other storm-related tree debris free of charge.

The City appreciates residents' efforts to help keep our community clean and safe following severe weather events.

Happy Flag Day from the City of Bellevue!
Today we honor the Stars and Stripes, a symbol of freedom, unity, and the sacrifices made by generations of Americans. Flag Day commemorates June 14, 1777, when the United States officially adopted its first national flag.

Enjoy these photos of flags proudly displayed throughout our great community, and take a moment to reflect on the values and freedoms they represent.

Pretty cool sight this afternoon as the Oklahoma Sooners Baseball team rolled into Bellevue with the Boomer Sooner bus parked in front of Don Roddy Field at Bellevue East High School. Taking advantage of a perfect June day, the Sooners got some practice time in before their first College World Series game in Omaha on Saturday afternoon.

Bellevue Public Schools and the City of Bellevue are honored that College World Series teams continue to choose Bellevue East High School as a practice site. It’s a great opportunity for local baseball fans to get an up-close look at some of the nation’s top student-athletes as they prepare for college baseball’s biggest stage.

As always, Bellevue Public Schools Maintenance Supervisor Steve Jarrett and his crew have Don Roddy Field looking outstanding and ready to host some of the best college baseball programs in the country.

Be sure to follow the Bellevue Public Schools page for the latest updates, as practice schedules are subject to change.

A nice crowd has gathered at Washington Park this evening to enjoy some perfect weather and a spirited performance by All Seasons Church as part of the Bellevue Recreation Department’s annual Music in the Park concert series.

There’s nothing better than spending a summer evening outdoors with friends, family, and great live music right here in Bellevue. If you haven’t made it out yet, there are still plenty of opportunities to enjoy this free community tradition throughout the summer.

Music in the Park takes place every Thursday from 7:00–8:00 p.m. at the Washington Park Pavilion (20th & Franklin) through August 20.

This year’s lineup features a variety of musical styles, including country, classic rock, jazz, pop, contemporary Christian music, and more:

🎤 June 25 – Bozak & Morrissey (Rock ‘n Roll Hits)
🎤 July 2 – Pattie Dee 3 (Piano Classics)
🎤 July 9 – Pam Kalal Quartet (Pop & Rock Vocals)
🎤 July 16 – Thanksgiving Church (Contemporary Christian)
🎤 July 23 – Mary Carrick Quartet (Vocal Variety)
🎤 July 30 – Bellevue Christian Center (Contemporary Christian)
🎤 August 6 – Prairie Madness (Classic Rock)
🎤 August 13 – Calvary Christian Church (Contemporary Christian)

Mission Avenue Improvement Project Update

Tree clearing associated with the Mission Avenue Improvements Project is beginning today along Mission Avenue and on Franklin Street just north of Mission. This work is expected to continue over the next couple of weeks.

Before any work began, the City of Bellevue completed a migratory bird survey to comply with federal wildlife protection requirements. The survey identified two active bird nests in trees scheduled for removal. Those trees will remain in place and be protected until the young birds have hatched and left the nests, with a follow-up inspection planned later this month.

All other trees that were found to be free of active nests may be removed as part of the project. The City and project team are committed to balancing necessary infrastructure improvements with environmental stewardship and wildlife protection.

FYI…..The eagle/American Flag tree carvings in front of the Eagles Club and Erwin’s Jewelry will be removed and relocated adjacent to the businesses as part of this project so residents and visitors can continue to enjoy them.

If you have questions or concerns about the project, please contact the City of Bellevue, and we will work with the project team to provide information as quickly as possible.
