New Business Item 18 PASSES!!

NBI 18 was brought to the floor for the NEA delegates to debate. With no speakers against, a motion to close debate was brought to the floor and then voting on the motion began. With an 80% approval rate from the NEA delegates, NBI 18 passes!

The directive to NEA of this NBI is to create a transparent system for taking requests for new "position" and "subject" codes for the NEA360 databases. The rationale for this NBI is to have improved inclusiveness for our members and how they are categorized in their job roles.

BEA delegates voted for NEA leadership this morning! The NEA President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and Executive Committee were up for election. This is a change election, as the current NEA President has termed out.

They also voted on NEA Constitution and By Law amendments. Voting is done by secret ballot.

BEA has to opportunity to exercise their democratic responsibility at the NEA RA!
