We'd like to send a huge thank you to the Bellevue Walmart Supercenter. This morning in recognition of "International Firefighters Day" Cole, Koffi, and Shelby along with the rest of the Walmart team made a donation of Gatorade and water. The summer temps and humidity in Nebraska are no joke. These supplies will help keep us going! So "Thank You" Bellevue Walmart!

With many newer smoke alarms featuring 10-year batteries, the messaging around smoke alarms and batteries has evolved.

As begins this Sunday, remember to adjust your clocks and check your smoke alarm batteries—only if needed. Don't forget to test your alarms monthly.

As many of our residents know, we work closely with our brothers and sisters of the Papillion Fire Dept. Most of our western border is intertwined with fire district lines that are anything but straight. Area depts also benefit from a strong mutual aid agreement. This brings us to an interesting convergence. On July 22nd, 2025, our Engine 41 crew assisted the Papillion Fire Dept and Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office with a highly unusual call that was significantly beyond the normal expectations of any fire dept member. Due to their actions, three members of the Bellevue Fire Dept have received the “Papillion Fire Departments Exceptional Performance Award”.

This morning Papillion Fire Chief Gottsch along with Bellevue Fire Chief Guido and Assistant Chief Wagner gathered at our District 4 Fire Station to present this award.

Please help us thank and congratulate Captain Evan Engleman, FF Brandon Kalhoff, and FF Samuel Cieslik (not pictured).

Getting your student ready to head off to college? Whether they will live on- or off-campus, make sure you help them understand how to be fire safe.

☑ Are there working smoke alarms in each room?
☑ Are there at least 2 ways out of each room and each building?
☑ Do the upper levels have at least 2 sets of stairs inside and/or a fire escape?
☑ Are there exit signs in the hallways to show the way out?
