82 years ago, men of extraordinary caliber stormed the coast of Nazi-occupied Normandy in an operation known as D-Day. Despite the difficult conditions, including rough ocean waters, mass casualties, and overwhelming resistance, the Allied forces prevailed. Securing this coast allowed for troops and supplies to be brought into Europe and take on Hitlerโs forces. Through the success of this operation, Allied forces were able to take back occupied European lands and defeat Nazi-Germany.
D-Day will forever remain a historical reminder that freedom is not free, and it is only possible because of the courage and sacrifice of our troops.
