Bellevue City Schools

Bellevue City Schools At BCS, we are committed to educating every student, every day with intent, integrity and purpose.

Bellevue City Schools is a rural school district focused on preparing our students for success in any environment. Pride and tradition are paired with technology and innovation to prepare our students for a global economy and excellence in any field they choose. The Bellevue School District began in a one-room log house in 1827. The first class to graduate from Bellevue High School was in 1870 wit

h two students receiving their diploma. Today, the Bellevue City School District serves a population of approximately 2,061 students, encompasses 115 square miles and comprises three school buildings - Bellevue Elementary, Bellevue Middle and Bellevue High School. The Bellevue City School District’s student-to-teacher ratio is 17:1 (compared with the state average of 18:1) and the district employs more than 150 certified educators and 80 classified employees (bus drivers, cooks, custodians, maintenance workers, instructional aides, and secretaries), making the district one of the largest employers in the Bellevue area. At Bellevue, we hold the belief that all students can reach the highest level of achievement; we have expectations of excellence and integrity; we know that leadership leads to success; we have a lifelong commitment to helping students be college and career ready; we value engagement because it is the key to learning; we possess the vision to be the most excellent school district in Ohio; we remain united in trust and respect for all individuals; and we hold an enthusiasm for high-quality teaching and learning. Every Bellevue graduate is celebrated for being either Enrolled, Employed or Enlisted upon graduation. We focus on the whole child and value social emotional learning, family support and engagement. We know that strong extra-curricular and co-curricular programs are an important part of the school experience. Bellevue takes great pride in offering excellent athletics, arts, Future Farmers of America, Family Career, and Community Leaders of America, leadership and music programs. We value all programs and will help students find their passion knowing this will strengthen our academic performance. We value the hard work of our community members and strive to provide the highest quality education to our students while being good stewards of the funds that our residents trust us to use with intent, integrity, and purpose.

Water balloon fun made for the perfect way to celebrate the last week of school in Mrs. Cramer’s third-grade class!

With plenty of laughter, smiles, and a few splashes along the way, students enjoyed a memorable day together as they wrapped up an amazing school year. It was a fun-filled celebration of all their hard work, growth, and accomplishments throughout the year.

What a blast and a fantastic way to kick off summer! ☀️😄

Financial Fact Friday!

Bellevue City Schools works to plan responsibly for both current needs and future challenges. One way the district does this is by maintaining a financial reserve, sometimes called a cash balance.

A financial reserve helps the district manage day-to-day operations while preparing for unexpected costs or changes in funding. Because school expenses occur throughout the year, maintaining a reserve allows the district to continue operating smoothly even when revenue fluctuates.

District reserves help support essential operations such as:

• Employee salaries and benefits
• Student transportation
• Utilities and building maintenance
• Safety and security measures
• Classroom materials and technology
• Student programs and support services

A reserve also provides flexibility when unexpected situations arise, including:

• Increased fuel, utility or supply costs
• Changes in state or federal funding
• Emergency repairs or maintenance needs
• Delays in local or state revenue payments
• Economic changes that impact district finances

📚🌴 Even after the final bell, we’re still celebrating some amazing seventh-grade accomplishments!

Our ELA students wrapped up their Grammar Island competition after months of hard work, teamwork, and focused grammar practice. Throughout the challenge, students completed weekly grammar tasks, watched instructional videos, and participated in bi-weekly competitions designed to strengthen their language skills in a fun and engaging way.

A huge congratulations to our top finishing teams in Mrs. Braden’s class:

🥇 1st Place – Barbie Boys (395 points)
🥈 2nd Place – 67’s (360 points)
🥉 3rd Place – The Grand Accidents (320 points)

We are so proud of ALL our students for their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to growing as writers this year. Great work, seventh grade! Keep that momentum going! 👏📖

📚❤️ Some students make a difference in the quietest, but most meaningful, ways.

Throughout the school year, these two fifth graders chose to spend their recess volunteering in the library. From reshelving books to helping keep things organized, their dedication and willingness to serve others made a lasting impact.

We are so grateful for their hard work, responsibility, and commitment all year long. Thank you for helping make our library a great place for everyone! ❤️

During this year’s Senior Walk Through, our seniors shared special moments throughout the buildings they once called home. Some stopped to take pictures with students who look up to them and dream of one day walking in their shoes. Others couldn't resist the chance for one last recess with friends. ❤️

As summer begins and our graduates prepare for their next chapters, these moments serve as a reminder of the impact they leave behind. Once a Redman, always a Redman. ❤️
