At one school we visited recently, Tater found a produce stand. He saw pumpkins, tomatoes, peppers, watermelon, and a sign referencing root vegetables, but Tater did not see any potatoes. Tater decided to join the produce stand to make up for the lack of potatoes.

Tater is the best dog ever, and we love having him as our Facility Dog. I’m lucky to have spent the last few months with him while his primary handler was away from work.

Tuesday evening the Bellevue (Nebraska) Police Department high school SROs participated in our annual tradition of helping Chick-fil-A Bellevue award college scholarships to three amazing Bellevue students. Each year, one graduating senior from each of our public high schools (OPS Bryan High, BPS Bellevue West, and BPS Bellevue East) is given a scholarship by Tom Deall and Chick-fil-A to support these young adults as they start their college journey.

BPD Facility Dog Tater and I were lucky enough to be invited to Betz Elementary School’s afternoon at the park. We celebrated all the students’ hard work, enjoyed the fresh air and sunlight, and soaked up the love from the sweetest kids ever.

Tater received endless pets and cuddles and I was gifted some local plants to decorate my uniform with 🌾🌱

We love all our Bellevue Public Schools students and are so fortunate to have the chance to impact their lives!

Bellevue, I cannot thank you enough for the love, smiles, waves, and cheerful attitudes today as you visited Chick-fil-A Bellevue and interacted with the SRO group. We had officers on the roof throwing stuffed cows, officers taking orders at the register, officers carrying food to tables, officers handing food and drinks through the drive-through window, and we had officers holding the doors and handing out stickers. This is, hands down, one of our FAVORITE events of the year!!

Thank you SO MUCH to Tom, Tonya, and the lovely staff at Chick-fil-A for letting us hang out with you every year.

And THANK YOU BELLEVUE for helping us earn money to support kids in need in our schools! Throughout the year, School Resource Officers will watch for students who might need a little extra care and work with school staff to identify students and families who could use some extra assistance over the holidays. YOU MAKE THAT POSSIBLE!

THIS SATURDAY, April 25th, stop by Chick-fil-A Bellevue for a BPD sticker and a smile or high five from the SRO group as we help take your order, deliver your food, or hand that delicious chicken to you at the drive-through window. SROs will be there from 11am-1pm and again from 4pm-7pm.

This is one of our favorite days of the year!! Part of your purchase will go to the BPD SRO unit, to be used in various ways throughout the year to support kids in our schools. Last Christmas, we were able to help buy gifts for 21 kids from 10 families, thanks to your generosity!
