Founded by Al Wunderlich, the Franklin Neighborhood Community Association is a non-profit organization that has been providing opportunities for students and residents within an at-risk community since 1992. is to foster support for all youth and residents who reside in the identified district. This support will include programs and services which will enhance the school's goal of unifying the stu
dents, faculty, support staff, parents, businesses, and community as a family. The unifying purpose is to create a circle of love and respect that involves each person in the neighborhood and provide an environment for accelerated learning for all individuals. The Franklin Neighborhood Community Association is driven by donations and with the help of volunteers. The funds donated to the F.N.C.A. will be used to enhance the various activities created and hosted by the Franklin Neighborhood Community Association. Some of these activities include after school tutoring; after school life skills classes such as sewing, cooking, sports, arts and crafts, etc.; and our annual Franklin Neighborhood Community Association Summer Camp. Much of the funding would be put towards our upcoming Summer Camp. Summer Camp is offered to all Franklin Neighborhood residents grades first through sixth. The summer camp is Monday through Friday for six weeks beginning in June. During camp we strive to provide opportunities for the students in many different forms. We offer morning tutoring to students who are referred by their classroom teachers before the actual summer camp hours. We have themed days such as Camp Out Day where the students learn to make smores or talking with the fire department about fire safety. We also provide opportunities for students to take trips to the St. Louis Zoo, Botanical Gardens, Raging Rivers, and so much more. Pairing with the AmeriCorps program and other agencies we have been able to provide these opportunities for Franklin families, at a very small price, for twenty- four years. We would absolutely love to continue to provide these ample amounts of opportunities for our students and residents in the Franklin Neighborhood for many years to come. Your funding would mean the world to us. We would greatly appreciate your contribution towards fostering the growth of our young minds within the Franklin Community. The Franklin Neighborhood Community Association is always looking for volunteers to help with our after school programs, or donations including school supplies, clothes, shoes, house holds items, or anything that could contribute to our wonderful Franklin Families.
