It is that time of year when the Centre County District Attorney's Office receives nominations from the community, legal system and law enforcement recommending officers for the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award. The recognition is given for exceptional achievement in any police endeavor, on duty or off duty, including extraordinary valor, crime prevention, investigative work, community policing, traffic safety, drug control and prevention, juvenile programs and training programs. Nominees must be a Centre County full-time police officer and nominations should be made for police endeavors that occurred during the calendar year of 2021. A humble thank you for all those who voted Tuesday for my reelection. I cannot thank enough the friends, family and neighbors who helped me knock doors, circulate petitions during a pandemic , stood the polls and put up signs leading up to Election Day. I could not have done it with out your support and in particular the support of my wife Margherita who is always there for me.
