The International Friendship Center of Logan County (IFC) recently announced that applications are being accepted for the Japan Study Trip for 2016. This trip will be a life changing opportunity for Logan County area students who have completed grades 6-12 by July 2016. The exchange started in 1988 as a means of exchanging culture and friendship between the youth of Suzuka, Japan and Logan County, Ohio, USA.
The IFC is working with a travel company to provide a six day guided tour of Japan visiting Kyoto, Osaka and a four night home stay in Suzuka. Adults affiliated with the IFC of Logan County will accompany the students. The trip is expected to take place July 25-August 2, 2015 (dates may vary a day or two in order to save on flights.) Cost per student is expected to be $4,500, however, the IFC Board of Trustees has agreed to cover $2,000 of the trip for each student who is accepted into the program. A video of the last trip to Suzuka in 2014 can be viewed at https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B-xVu-2YNjLFLTB0VlZKbmNOSHc&usp=sharing. Applications can be accessed at www.tinyurl.com/JST2016 and completed and submitted online. Applications are due to no later than January 15. Personal interviews for the program will take place January 24-31. The trip will be limited to 12 students.
