The Board of Elections conducted the Official Canvass yesterday morning. A total of 35 votes were added to the Unofficial Canvass, 34 Provisional ballots that were cast, and 1 17-year old ballot that the Board is required to verify did not vote for any Central Committee positions, or on the issues that were decided this election.

A reminder; Early Voting is done at the Board of Elections, but on Election Day you must vote at your polling location.

-City of Bellefontaine residents vote at the Bellefontaine High School Cafeteria
-Bloomfield, Stokes, & Washington Townships along with the Villages of Lakeview & Russells Point vote at the Indian Lake High School Auxiliary Gym
-Bokescreek, Jefferson, Perry, & Rushcreek Townships & the Villages of West Mansfield, Zanesfield, & Rushsylvania vote at the Benjamin Logan Middle School Gym
-Liberty, Monroe & Zane Townships & the Village of West Liberty vote at MCESC Harmony Hall (formerly Adriel School)
-Harrison & Lake Townships vote at the Logan County Electric Cooperative
-McArthur Township & the Village of Huntsville vote at Cornerstone Church in Huntsville
-Miami, Pleasant, & Union Townships, along with the Villages of DeGraff & Quincy vote at the Riverside School in the new Athletic Fieldhouse
-Richland Township & the Village of Belle Center vote at the Belle Center American Legion

Early voting has ended for the May 5th Primary Election. To vote in this election, you must vote at your polling location between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. tomorrow.

The Board of Elections is looking for 2 Democrats, or unaffiliated voters to be precinct election officials for next Tuesday's election at Bellefontaine High School, and Indian Lake High School.

There are precinct election official trainings this Thursday at either 2:30 p.m., or 4:30 p.m. If you are 1) interested in working, and/or 2) able to attend either of the training sessions, please contact the Board of Elections office either by phone (937) 599-7255, or email to [email protected], or [email protected].

All Republican positions for this election have been filled already.

As required by law, citizens who are not already registered to vote and, who plan to exercise their right to vote in the May 5, 2026 Primary Election must be registered to vote at least thirty days before the election. The deadline to register with the Board of Elections is April 6, 2026. In addition, any registered voter who has moved since they last voted and has not filed a change of address with the Board of Elections should do so by the same deadline.

Qualifications to Vote in the April 6, 2026 Primary Election.
-Must be a U.S. citizen.
-Must be a resident of Ohio for 30 days before the election.
-Must register to vote 30 days before the election.
-Must turn 18 years old on or before November 3, 2026.
-Must not be incarcerated (in jail or prison) for a felony conviction.
-Must not be declared incompetent for voting purposes by a probate court.
-Must not have been permanently disenfranchised for violations of the election laws.

The updated 100 Day Notice has been uploaded to our website. This update includes the candidate names of all candidates that filed by the 4:00 p.m. deadline yesterday that we have been made aware of. When additional updates from other counties are received we will update the notice as well.
