Today is National Voter Registration Day!

You have just under 3 weeks left to get registered to vote for this November's election.

If you don't know whether you are registered to vote or not, you can check our website: https://lookup.boe.ohio.gov/vtrapp/logan/vtrlookup.aspx

If you aren't registered, or registered under a previous address or name, you can register or update your information through the Secretary of State's website: https://olvr.ohiosos.gov/, or stop into our office any time we are open from now until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5th.

If any misspellings or discrepancies are noticed, please contact the Board of Elections before 9/15 so that corrections can be made before the 9/17 Board of Elections meeting where the ballots will be approved for use in this election.

The Ohio Secretary of State's Office has mailed an absentee application to every registered voter in the State of Ohio. That application, along with others that voters may or may not have received is a valid application that can be utilized for this November's election.

The envelope from the Secretary's office, and the instructions from the Secretary are pictured below.

As the Secretary says in his instruction letter, we recommend that you return the absentee ballot application to your Board of Elections office as soon as possible. The first day that absentee ballots will be mailed to regular voters is Tuesday, October 6th.

Our office received 31 absentee ballot applications in the mail today, which is great. We just want to make all voters aware that once you apply for an absentee ballot for an election, you do not need to submit multiple applications for the same election.

With this being a large federal and State election, a lot of entities will be sending absentee applications to voters, including the Secretary of State's office. One valid application is all that is needed to receive a ballot, and you can check our website, https://lookup.boe.ohio.gov/vtrapp/logan/avlookup.aspx to see if an application you submitted has been received and whether it is valid or not.

UOCAVA ballots will be sent beginning Friday, September 18th. All other absentee ballots will be sent beginning Tuesday, October 6th.

The Board of Elections conducted the Official Canvass yesterday morning. A total of 35 votes were added to the Unofficial Canvass, 34 Provisional ballots that were cast, and 1 17-year old ballot that the Board is required to verify did not vote for any Central Committee positions, or on the issues that were decided this election.

-Bloomfield, Stokes, & Washington Townships along with the Villages of Lakeview & Russells Point vote at the Indian Lake High School Auxiliary Gym
-Bokescreek, Jefferson, Perry, & Rushcreek Townships & the Villages of West Mansfield, Zanesfield, & Rushsylvania vote at the Benjamin Logan Middle School Gym
-Liberty, Monroe & Zane Townships & the Village of West Liberty vote at MCESC Harmony Hall (formerly Adriel School)
-Harrison & Lake Townships vote at the Logan County Electric Cooperative

Early voting has ended for the May 5th Primary Election. To vote in this election, you must vote at your polling location between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. tomorrow.

The Board of Elections is looking for 2 Democrats, or unaffiliated voters to be precinct election officials for next Tuesday's election at Bellefontaine High School, and Indian Lake High School.

There are precinct election official trainings this Thursday at either 2:30 p.m., or 4:30 p.m. If you are 1) interested in working, and/or 2) able to attend either of the training sessions, please contact the Board of Elections office either by phone (937) 599-7255, or email to [email protected], or [email protected].

All Republican positions for this election have been filled already.
