REMINDER: Today is the first day of school, I want to remind everyone to slow down and stay alert, as our students, parents, teachers and school staff get back in the routines of school activities.

Please be especially aware and mindful of schools zones, reduced speed limits, crossing areas and our school buses loading and unloading.

When school buses are stopped with its warning lights flashing, please remember to stop and give our kids the time and space needed to get on and off the buses safely.

Let’s all do our part to make sure our kids get to school and back home safely every day.

Finished painting the Belle Mascot — and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I decided not to use the school’s official tiger just to avoid any copyright issues, and honestly, the final design came out even better than I hoped.

A huge shoutout to Raeanna Butler for her incredible artistic talent. Her creativity, eye for detail, and steady hand took this project to another level. This mascot wouldn’t look anything like it does today without her. Truly amazing work.

And of course, special thanks to my wife, Tammy Coborn, for all her help and support throughout the project.

Proud of how it all came together — and even more proud of the team effort behind it.

Update to the citizens of Belle: CONSTRUCTION NOTICE: Construction is commencing on May 11th, with an estimated completion date of June 1st. The project entails the replacement of outdated water mains with a new system, which should enhance service reliability. The replacement work will occur between First Street and Third Street. To facilitate the construction process, work crews have requested that parking be prohibited along Alvarado Avenue between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. This no-parking zone will be enforced from May 11 through June 1st, and vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense. Although the exact timing of the water shutdown for the water main replacement has not been disclosed, it is expected to occur during the early morning hours to minimize service disruptions. **URGENT UPDATE**

-The TORCON has been upped to a 7 today/tonight for Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois. Cities in this zone include, St. Louis, Springfield, Mount Vernon, Rolla, Cape Girardeau, and Poplar Bluff. Tornadoes could be long-lived and very intense(EF3+). It is imperative that you have a strong building to shelter in when these storms hit.

On April 7th, 2026, our community will vote on Proposition A, the half-cent Safety Sales Tax. I’m asking for your support because this measure is about one thing: protecting the people of Belle and giving our Marshall’s Office the tools needed to help keep everyone safe.

Why Proposition A matters for the City of Belle:
• 🚓 Helps maintain strong police and public safety services
• Supports equipment, training, and emergency response improvements
• Money Stays right here in Belle— local funds for local safety
• Can only be used by the Belle Marshals Office/Police Department for safety needs, with oversight and transparency by your Marshal

Every family deserves to feel safe in their home, on our streets, and in our neighborhoods. Proposition A for the City of Belle helps ensure we can continue providing reliable, professional, community-focused public safety for years to come.
