🔥 CONTROL BURN SEASON IS BACK… which means it’s also “please don’t accidentally summon the fire department” season. 😅🚒
If you’re planning a controlled burn, help us help you (and help us NOT show up in your driveway looking confused) by following these simple steps:
1️⃣ CALL DISPATCH BEFORE YOU BURN — AND AFTER IT’S OUT
Seriously… calling in your burn dramatically decreases our chances of showing up like uninvited guests call Osage County 911 non emergency line : (573) 897-0911
2️⃣ FOLLOW THE MISSOURI DNR RECOMMENDATIONS
They make the rules, not us!

3️⃣ HAVE A WATER SOURCE
Garden hose, water tank, bucket brigade… whatever works. Just don’t rely on “I think I can outrun it.”
4️⃣ CHECK THE WEATHER
Windy day? Maybe don’t light your field on fire.
The ground might be soggy, but that dry vegetation on top? Yeah… that stuff lights faster than your uncle’s temper at Thanksgiving.
🚒 And remember:
Your Volunteer Firefighters are always here if you need us. Our number is 911!
