Bartlett Arboretum Est. 1910 Located 20 miles south of Wichita, the century-old, historic Bartlett Arboretum is home to massive cypress, oaks and champion Japanese maples.

For nearly 100 years many generations of Kansans have enjoyed this unique sanctuary once touted as "the only mature arboretum between the Mississippi River and the Rocky Mountains." Chautauqua: Cultivating Community
October 3+4, 2026

We are proud to announce Chautauqua: Cultivating Community, a weekend of interactive workshops, hands-on craft sessions, and inspiring educational lectures right here in Bartlett Arboretum. Rooted in the themes of mutual learning and fostering an enduring spirit of community, the two-day event will transform the arboretum into an open-air classroom and cultural forum.

The Chautauqua movement, which originated in the late 1800s as an assembly for education, art, and community enlightenment, has expanded over the last century to locations stretching from New York to Colorado. By launching our inaugural assembly this year, Bartlett Arboretum joins the Chautauqua Trail, providing a modern sanctuary for folks to unplug, share knowledge, and connect deeply with their neighbors.

🎵 Winfield Warm-Up: Driven and John Depew Trio
Sunday, September 13, 2026 - 4PM 🎵

Enjoy a pre-festival smash-up performance. Come see and hear what it’s all about at the annual Walnut Valley pilgrimage that so many of us have made for over 50 years.

DRIVEN, back by popular demand, features hard-driving instrumentals and cracker jack vocals - a sneak peek at what to expect at the Cowley County Fairgrounds. Driven is led by the best-kept secret from Colby, Kansas: the supremely talented McLemore twins, Blake and Brandon. Also featured is guitar slinger and arb steward, Kentucky White, along with his brother-from-another-mother, fiddler phenom Shelby Eicher. All powered by the irresistible forward motion of Kansas’ very own Jimmy Campbell on five-string banjo.

John Depew, also our native son and hands-down Robin Macy’s favorite singer-songwriter, will bring his trio for a debut set. His song, Joyful Sound, was the initial inspiration for our inaugural autumn Chautauqua (info on our LinkTree below.👇)

🎶 Back by popular demand, 21st Century’s answer to the Everly Brothers, The Cactus Blossoms 🌵 🌸 return to Bartlett Arboretum this Sunday. This is a not-to-miss concert, folks.

Blood harmonies is the secret sauce in some of the most spine-tingling moments in popular music. These Minneapolis-based brothers Page Burkum and Jack Torrey – offer compelling evidence that this tradition is alive and well, sporting “creative turns of phrase, gorgeous harmonies, and an ageless sound.” (NPR All Things Considered)

🎶 Back by popular demand, 21st Century's answer to the Everly Brothers, The Cactus Blossoms 🌵 🌸 return to Belle Plaine this Sunday. (Possibly, we'll be heading on over to the lovely air-conditioned Methodist Church for the concert, depending on forecast.) We love our neighborhood Methodists! Stay tuned as Mother Nature is being cagey and sly. We will announce venue location on our website and social media outlets.
