June is Men's Health Awareness Month 💙

When we talk about men's health, it's important to talk about mental health too.

Many men face stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and other mental health challenges, yet too often they feel pressure to stay silent or "tough it out." The truth is that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

This month, take time to check in with yourself and the men in your life. A simple conversation, a listening ear, or reaching out for professional support can make a meaningful difference.

✔️ Talk about your feelings
✔️ Prioritize rest and self-care
✔️ Stay connected with family and friends
✔️ Seek help when you need it

Here at Plaquemines Community CARE Centers Foundation (PCCCF), we believe that mental wellness is an essential part of overall health. Together, we can help break the stigma surrounding men's mental health and encourage a culture of support, understanding, and resilience.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

This month, remember to give yourself permission to slow down and care for your mental well-being. One simple way to support your mental health is to create a “calm space” in your home a cozy corner with things that help you relax, like your favorite blanket, book, candle, music, or plants. Use this space when you need time to reset, reflect, and recharge.

At the Plaquemines Community CARE Centers Foundation, Inc., we believe mental wellness matters for every individual and family in our community. Through counseling, support services, advocacy, and education, PCCCF is committed to helping our community grow stronger together.

Mental health and physical health go hand in hand. 💚

This Mental Health Awareness Month, take a moment to care for yourself by moving your body in a way that feels good to you — whether that’s a walk outside, stretching, yoga, dancing, or simply getting some fresh air. Small steps toward wellness can make a big difference.

At Plaquemines Community CARE Centers Foundation, we are committed to supporting the mental and emotional well-being of our community every day. Remember: caring for your mind is just as important as caring for your body.

Yesterday’s GiveNOLA Day was an incredible reminder of what community can do when people come together to support a shared mission. Thank you to everyone who donated, shared our posts, encouraged others to give, and helped support the work of the Plaquemines Community CARE Centers Foundation. Your generosity truly makes a difference in the lives of children, families, seniors, and individuals across Plaquemines Parish.

While the giving was happening, the work continued. These photos were taken on GiveNOLA Day as our Executive Director and Director of Business Operations presented to the The Rotary Club of Belle Chasse — continuing conversations, building partnerships, and advocating for the needs of our community.

GiveNOLA Day may be over, but the need — and the impact — continues every single day. There is still time to support the CARE Center and help us continue providing critical services and resources throughout Plaquemines Parish. Together, we can keep making a difference, one child, one family at a time.
