In late winter 2025, the ACCS petition drive was successful.
The effort not only placed the public safety bond on the ballot, it also reduced the proposed amount from 25 million to 18 million, a 28% reduction.
On the November 4 election, voters were able to vote for or against this reduced bond for our Public Safety Center.
The voters approved a new Public Safety Center at this reduced bond amount.
Now ACCS wants to ensure the county stays within the time limits and financial limits established by this vote.
ACCS pushed for a third-party expert to help the county meet these goals, and Resolution 18-2025 was passed on September 18, 2025, to hire Plante Moran Realpointe's services.
On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the public is encouraged to come hear these critical findings.
