Your voice matters. Your vote matters.

This is a reminder to make a plan and vote by June 2. You can mail in your ballot, drop it off at an official ballot drop box, or vote in person.

Every election is an opportunity to be heard and to help shape the future of our community. Please take a few minutes, cast your vote, and remind your family, friends, and neighbors to do the same. 🗳️

Bell Gardens is facing a pivotal moment. Increasing costs and potential reductions to key revenue sources threaten the City’s ability to maintain essential public services.

A YES vote on Measure BG will help safeguard the services and programs that residents rely on most:

✅ Visible police patrols and emergency response services
✅ After-school and summer youth programs
✅ Senior services for older adults
✅ The Community Family Service Center
✅ Street maintenance and infrastructure improvements
✅ Essential daily services that help keep Bell Gardens safe, clean, healthy, and functioning effectively

Measure BG does not increase property taxes and does not impose a tax on income. It applies only to taxable purchases and does not apply to grocery food items or pharmacy purchases.

Measure BG is about preserving public safety, maintaining community stability, and ensuring that the City can continue to serve its residents effectively.

Bell Gardens is facing serious financial uncertainty as the City prepares for possible impacts tied to declining casino revenue, state cardroom regulations, and the outcome of Measure BG.

This article provides important information on the City’s projected budget challenges, including the possibility of an estimated budget shortfall if multiple revenue impacts occur at the same time.

As a Councilwoman, my priority is making sure residents have access to clear information about how these issues may affect essential services, including public safety, parks, recreation programs, senior and youth services, and support for working families.

Today, we gathered with gratitude and reverence to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Thank you to Park Lawn Cemetery, the City of Commerce, LA County Fire, BGPD, American Legion Post 465, and everyone who attended today’s Memorial Day event. Your presence helped make this moment of remembrance meaningful and heartfelt.

May we continue to honor our fallen heroes not only today, but through the way we live, serve, and care for one another.

We remember. ♥️We honor. ✨We are grateful. 🇺🇸

Proud to welcome the Latina Golfers to the Bell Gardens Golf Course. ⛳️✨

As a Councilwoman and a member of the Latina Golfers Leadership Cohort, this moment was especially meaningful. Representation matters, and so does access. Creating spaces where Latinas can learn, grow, connect, and feel welcomed in places we have not always seen ourselves is powerful.

I am proud that our community can be part of opening doors, building confidence, and showing that golf is more than a game, it is a space for leadership, opportunity, and sisterhood.

Grateful to continue learning alongside my golf hermanas and proud to see Bell Gardens be part of that journey. 💚✨

Measure BG is the responsible, local solution to protect Bell Gardens before cuts become unavoidable. It increases the City’s existing transactions and use tax from 3/4% to 1% and is expected to generate about $1.2 million each year.
✅A YES vote on Measure BG helps keep police patrols visible in our neighborhoods and maintain fast emergency response when seconds matter.
✅A YES vote on Measure BG helps protect programs that keep our kids safe, engaged, and supported after school and during the summer.
✅A YES vote on Measure BG helps protect senior services so our elders are cared for, and not left behind.
✅A YES vote on Measure BG helps keep the Community Family Service Center available for families who need support and resources.
✅A YES vote on Measure BG helps fix and improve our streets.
✅A YES vote on Measure BG helps protect the everyday City services that keep Bell Gardens safe, clean, healthy, and working.
Measure BG does not raise property taxes and does not tax income. It applies only to taxable purchases. Does not apply to grocery store food or pharmacy purchases.
If you’re frustrated or skeptical, we understand. This is your moment to protect what matters most: safety, stability, and a City that shows up for its people.

As Bell Gardens prepares for the June 2nd ballot, many residents have questions about Measure BG and why it’s being proposed.

Measure BG comes at a time when Bell Gardens is facing financial pressure tied to potential impacts on revenues generated by Parkwest Bicycle Casino following proposed actions and regulatory changes from the California Attorney General’s Office. These revenues help support essential city services, programs, and operations throughout the community.

To help residents make an informed decision before Election Day, the City of Bell Gardens will be hosting a Community Budget Workshop on May 27th at Ross Hall at 6:00pm. This workshop will provide an opportunity to better understand the City’s budget, and what Measure BG could mean for the future of our community.

We encourage all residents to stay informed, ask questions, and participate in the conversation.
