I would love to turn this page over to the Kuss family. If there's anyone that could help me to find them, that would be amazing. I unfortunately just don't have the time to give this page the attention it deserves. Thanks in advance!

This photo was sent in to me by Ashley Owings. She was kind enough to share her experience with Captain Jeff Kuss.

She writes:

"This day was my first Blue Angel Fly over on base, even though we lived close to base and I would see them pass over our woodlines during their shows and practices. It was so close our home would shake and we just knew it was the Blue Angels. On this day I met Jeff Kuss about two weeks before his passing at the Blue Angel signing that they did after their shows. He was so kind and took the time to talk to me about my Military career and the possibility of my husband swithing over to the officer/ pilot side. We shared so laughs when I asked asked if pilots can have glasses because my husband has scratched both of his corneas, one of the eyes, when he got in a fight with a plant and the plant won and the second when I told him to wear eye pro when using a saw to cut wood and he didn't listen. That classic wife moment. He was very kind and really took the time with each person, not rushing the line like others did, he really wanted to hear everyone's story and was very patient and nice, a true gentleman and outstanding Service member ." - Ashley Owings

The Town of Smyrna received a special gift this morning all the way from Durango, Colorado! To reciprocate the forever love the Kuss family feels from our citizens and Town, they reached out to let us know they would be sending one of Jeff's flight suits to share with Smyrna.
We at the Town could not be more thankful to the Kuss family for this precious gift, and cannot wait to display and have Smyrna citizens enjoy this cherished piece of the Kuss family for years to come!
Stay tuned for details on when you can see this memorabilia in person.
