At approximately 2:45 PM, the Belfast Fire Department was dispatched, along with Marshall County EMS and Marshall County OEM, to respond to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Fayetteville Highway and Sharp Road. Approximately three hours later 5:45 PM units were dispatched to the area of Robin Hood Road and Finley Beech Road for a two-car motor vehicle accident.

A positive update for our community on this gloomy Sunday: AC Hawkins recently was at our fire hall and discovered a discrepancy on the side of our parking lot, prompting a thorough investigation, which revealed a nest of killdeer eggs in our parking lot. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide updates on our page.

Last night at approximately 9:22 PM, the Belfast Fire Department, Marshall County EMA, Marshall County EMS, and Tanker Task Force responded to a residential structure fire in Petersburg. Marshall County Command also requested assistance from Lincoln County Fire. Upon arrival, units found a structure fully engulfed in flames; fortunately, all occupants escaped the house, but unfortunately, two pets perished in the fire. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers. American Red Cross is assisting the family.

On Sunday afternoon at approximately 5:08 PM, the Belfast Fire Department, along with Marshall County EMS, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, and the THP, responded to a single-vehicle MVA on Liberty Valley Road. Units had to remove the sunroof to gain entry. The patient was transported by EMS to the hospital.
