We are proud to highlight the dedication of Firefighter/EMT Elli Lechner, who recently volunteered her time at Camp Blaze. Using her own leave, Ellie contributed to the development of future women in the fire service.

A large Incident on an already busy day for our crews.

Sunday SR 106 Collision
At approximately 7:30 pm yesterday, North Mason RFA was dispatched to a reported injury MVA in the area of mile marker 13 on State Route 106 near Twanoh Falls. Firefighters arrived to find the aftermath of a 2-vehicle head-on collision. In total, four patients were treated and transported to local hospitals by ambulance, all with various non-life threatening injuries.

Washington State Patrol closed the highway for several hours for the investigation.

Just after midnight, North Mason RFA and neighboring agencies were dispatched to a Residential Structure Fire in the Cedar Street neighborhood. Arriving firefighters found a shed-type structure used as a cabin fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to quickly knockdown the flames and ensure no one was injured. The lone resident is being assisted by the Red Cross. North Mason was assisted by Central Mason, Grapeview, and Union.

We have a team of 5 participating in the Firefighter Stairclimb in Seattle this morning. 69 flights in full gear is a grueling effort! Good luck to team North Mason!

Just before 3 this afternoon, North Mason Fire was dispatched for a rollover collision involving a tractor on NE North Shore Road. The operator had been working from above when the ground gave way and the tractor fell and the operator was thrown from the tractor. The operator was transported by paramedics in stable condition.

Each of our members complete a 1-year evaluation period where they are trained and tested in every facet of their position.
