🔨As we work to re-open the Theler Wetlands Nature Center (TWNC), the Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife invite you to be part of the future vision of this community space!

🤝At the Open House, visitors will be able to see the work we have been implementing to finally re-open TWNC to the public, take a look at our future vision for the space and provide feedback, as well as learn more about the restoration and trail reconnection work taking place on the wetlands.

🌱In celebration of World Planting Day, Mason Conservation District will have bare root plants available for visitors at the event!

Many thanks to the Salmon Center staff for their hard work & support to the recent volunteer work party at the Nature Center. So nice to see great progress towards its re-opening. Thanks to the half dozen community volunteers for all their help with carpet removal, cleaning, & paint prep.

Theler Nature Center - Carpet & Prep Volunteer Event!

Join HCSEG and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife at the Theler Wetlands Exhibit Center to help us prepare the Exhibit for a fresh coat of paint and new carpet that will be installed in the coming weeks. Volunteers will help us remove carpet and clean the walls and windows. Gloves, tools, and materials will be provided, but bringing gloves is encouraged.

Save the Date!

Come join us at The Salmon Center for the 2026 MLK Day of Service! Together, we will be restoring salmon habitat by planting native shrubs and trees and pulling invasive plants. Be sure to dress for the weather and to wear waterproof shoes. Gloves and tools will be provided, but bringing your own gloves and reusable water bottle is encouraged. We hope to see you there!
