This is Karl McNeil
This gentleman has lived on this corner, in this house for over 40 years.
Unfortunately, this is the 5th time Karl has had to fix his fence due to cars flying around the blind corners
Karl wants a stop light installed to help keep his house, his family and his community safe.
Can you help Karl and I keep our community safe ….
Get a hold of Keith Kirkendall from the WA State Department of Transportation

Lynch Cove - Hood Canal Community
I am trying to get a HAWK beacon flashing crosswalk installed for my community in order for us to safely cross the WA 300 to get to our local community park.
My two year old son, my dog and I live in Lynch Cove - hood canal community in Belfair Washington.
We are new to this community and want to make it safer for us all.
In order to get to the local community park one must cross the busy 300.
Both the left and right corners are blind so not only is this an extreme struggle to drive out of the community, but also a chance of cheating death just to cross it (especially with a dog on a leash and a baby in a stroller).
That’s just getting to the park… We have to cross it once more to get home as well!
Sometimes we go to the park twice in one day so we cross this busy and dangerous 300 four times a day.
I first called mason county but they told me that because it crosses the 300 its Washington states zoning and their problem.
When I finally got a hold of Keith Kirkendall from the WA State Department of Transportation 360 239 5242
He did not seem very interested in helping me or in my communities lack of safety in order to get to the local park.
He told me that a the HAWK beacon flashing cross walk cost around $7,000 and it was not likely the state would be willing to pay that for our small community.
He recommended I do “some more digging around or see if I can find money through a community grant or raise some money or something like that.”
I was very disappointed with the lack of care and the very vague and pitiful resolution he offered.
Maybe we can make a little noise and see if we can get his attention…. Mainly, I want to make it safely to our local park with the aid of a HAWK Beacon crosswalk, would you like to help me?
