Today, the Belcourt Rural Fire Department lowers our flag to half-staff in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We remember the civilians who never made it home. We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMS providers, and other first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away. We remember the families who lost loved ones and the lasting impact that day had on our nation.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor their sacrifice by remembering not only the events of that day but the courage, selflessness, and unity that followed.

Her visits have become a daily thing, so naturally, we sized her for her official fire hat as honorary fire dog Mia.

If you are missing this little lady in the BIA housing, don't fret. She's hanging out with us. Every time we open the door, she runs in. She's very friendly and getting a healthy supply of scratches, but she has attached herself to Jenna, and it doesn't look like she wants to leave willingly anytime soon 😬
