🎉 Big news for Belchertown! The Town has been awarded $487,313 — the largest single grant in this year's statewide program — to build a municipally owned fiber optic network.

The new network will connect Belchertown, Wilbraham, and Palmer, strengthening public safety communications, improving regional connectivity, and saving taxpayers about $32,400 a year by replacing a costly leased connection.

A huge thank you to the Healey-Driscoll Administration, the Community Compact Cabinet, and our Information Technology department for making this possible.

Belchertown will observe Juneteenth this Friday, June 19, 2026. 🇺🇸

In observance of the holiday, the following will be closed Friday:
* Town Offices and all municipal departments
* Veterans' Services Office
* Senior Center
* Clapp Memorial Library
* Transfer Station
* Town Beach
* The pool at Chestnut Hill Community School

The Recreation Department will be closed both Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20. The Town Beach and Chestnut Hill pool reopen Saturday.

Police and Fire will be on duty around the clock, as always. In an emergency, call 911.

Town Offices reopen Monday, June 22. Wishing everyone a safe and reflective holiday.

🚧 Road Work Notice — Gulf Road Area

The Department of Public Works will be conducting roadwork Monday, June 22 through Tuesday, June 23, between the hours of 6:30 AM and 5:00 PM, on the following roads:

Gulf Road — from the intersection with Gold Road to the intersection with South Gulf Road
South Gulf Road — entire length
North Gulf Road — entire length (to the town line)
Gulf Road — from the intersection with Route 9 to the intersection with North Street

Roads will be individually closed to THRU traffic while work is performed. Emergency vehicles and residents will have access at all times. Please seek alternate routes and avoid these areas whenever possible, and expect delays.

Please note this work is weather dependent.
