🧪🔬 Science in action!

Our 5th graders put on their scientist hats and headed to the lab to explore the properties of matter and what happens when different substances are mixed together! Using oil, water, salt, and pepper, students made observations, tested mixtures, and discovered that not all substances behave the same way when combined.

Hands-on learning makes science come to life! 💡🥼

📣🏒 Our Herndon Cheerleaders had a great time with the Mudbugs this weekend! 💜❤️

Our girls welcomed patrons as they arrived for the game and then took the ice to perform during the halftime show! We are so proud of the way they represented Herndon and brought their Hawk spirit to George’s Pond! 📣✨❤️💜

🦁 Lion’s Camp Donation Drive is Coming! 🦁

Get ready to show your school spirit and support a great cause! From September 14 through September 18, we are collecting donations for Lion’s Camp—and there is a delicious prize on the line!

🍕 PIZZA PARTY CONTEST:
The classroom in each division (Elementary and Middle School) that donates the most items will win a pizza party for their class! 🍕🎉

📌 Information for Teachers & Classrooms:
Keep items in class: Please hold all donated items in your classroom throughout the week.

Collection Day: Student Council members will come around to gather all donations on the final day (Friday, Sept 18).

Early Pickup: Is your collection bin overflowing? No problem! Just let us know, and we will arrange an earlier pickup.

👑🐑 Nursery rhymes came to life in Kindergarten last week!

To wrap up our Mother Goose unit, our youngest learners dressed up as their favorite characters—from Little Bo Peep to Humpty Dumpty—and took the stage for a special performance! Each student proudly recited their favorite nursery rhyme in front of friends and family.

These classic rhymes aren’t just fun; they help build early literacy, memory, and public speaking confidence. We couldn't be prouder of how brave and expressive our little stars were! 🌟📖

Out of this world science happening in 8th grade! 🚀🔴

How do scientists study the surface of Mars? By starting right here on Earth! Our 8th graders have been comparing planetary landforms to uncover the secrets of the Red Planet's geology.

To bring Earth science to life, students used graham crackers and icing to simulate tectonic plate movement—mapping out how mountain ranges form, fault lines split, and plates shift. 🧪✨
