Looking for a volunteer opportunity for yourself, or maybe something to do with your scouts troop, community and/or civic organization? We need your help!

🚶‍♀️‍➡️🚶‍➡️🚶‍♂️‍➡️ The Bulle Rock Habitat for Humanity Club is teaming up with Habitat Susquehanna to take part in Havre de Grace’s Independence Day Parade on July 5, and we are looking for walkers!

🏘️ We are aiming to represent the homes Habitat Susquehanna has built or rehabbed in our community, with each walker helping to showcase that story.

🙌 Our shout-out of thanks goes to Jennifer Mainster, from Circa, Ltd Real Estate Appraisers, for doing our appraisals pro bono! (She is pictured, at right, with Heather Gibson, Homeownership Program Manager.)

🏘️ For more than 10 years Jennifer has been volunteering her services by appraising our properties once our homebuyers are ready to start their mortgage journey. As a licensed appraiser, she determines the value of the property through inspections, research, and market analysis to provide an accurate and unbiased valuation. On average, an appraisal inspection, and the report, takes a total of three days with an approximate cost of $400.

👏 We are grateful to Jennifer for all of the time she has spent helping us make a smooth transition in processing our Habitat mortgages so that our homebuyers can become homeowners! Thank you, Jennifer, for working with us to build homes, communities and hope!

Our Women Build event has started and we could use help from our Habitat supporters! We need:

1️⃣ Lunch donations! We have commitments for all of the build dates except for three! Can you help us feed our Women Build volunteers?
2️⃣ Financial support! Our Women Build teams are fundraising for the duplex they are building at Norman Avenue, Aberdeen. Want to help contribute to the cause? The money will go toward construction costs.
3️⃣ Volunteers in July! Once Women Build has concluded, we need MORE volunteers to come and continue the work at the build site! No experience necessary!

This sale is only held about four times a year, so take advantage of the chance to get a great thrift find!

🪵 Butcher block will be 20% off but don't delay! The last time the ReStore had a sale for the acacia butcher block, it sold out quickly. As the ReStore has said on its own social media posts, we only have a limited supply so arrive early Friday if you want to catch this deal!

🎉🏘️ We held a dedication ceremony for the Habitat house our volunteers rehabbed at Darlington Avenue, Aberdeen -- Linh's future home!

📹 Here's a short Worksite Wednesday video giving you a little tour of the interior, and a bit of the dedication ceremony, as well!

Fun Facts: 🎊 A home dedication ceremony occurs after a Habitat house is built/rehabbed but before the homebuyer goes to settlement which, in Linh's case, will be in a few weeks. It offers the opportunity for thanks and recognition to be given to the volunteers, donors and sponsors, and for the public to tour the home.
