It is our honor to announce that the recipient of the 2026 Illinois Fire Chiefs Association Fire Chief of the Year is none other than our very own, Fire Chief Joe Falaschetti!

This recognition is a tremendous reflection of Chief Falaschetti’s dedication, hard work, leadership, and unwavering commitment to our Fire District, our members, and the community we serve.

Throughout his career, Chief Falaschetti has continued to push forward, pursue progress, and work tirelessly to make our Fire District better. His commitment to professional growth and his vision for the future have helped move our organization forward while never losing sight of the people who make it what it is.

STORM DAMAGE TAX ADJUSTMENTS

If you have recently incurred significant storm damage, you may qualify for a property assessment adjustment. (This would include the loss of a building or other major damage.)

Please contact Washington Township Assessor Pat Peters "as soon as possible" at 708-231-1175 or apply online by completing the PTAX 245 Disaster area form available on the willcountysoa.com (under forms) and include as much documentation as possible and dated photos.

The Will County Supervisor of Assessment will consider all submitted applications and approve if qualified.

NOTE: It is important to apply as soon as possible for any assessment adjustment consideration.

Free of charge, Will County residents can bring unwanted car, small truck, and tractor for at Will County's Tire Recycling Event on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 8 AM to 3 PM at the Will County Fairgrounds (710 S West St, Peotone, IL 60468).

100 tires max per vehicle will be accepted, and residents must be able to unload their own tires. We unfortunately cannot take heavily soiled tires, off road tires, or business/industrial tires.
