📚 Stop the Summer Slide with Reading BINGO!
Research indicates that students can lose up to 2 months of reading progress during the summer. Research indicates that 62–73% of primary students experience a loss of reading skills over the break and children in grades 3–5 can lose approximately 20% of the reading improvements they achieved during the school year. This adds up over time – and it makes it tougher for kids to hit the ground running each fall. (Learning Horizon Education Centers) The good news is It doesn't take much to make a difference! Students who read during the break fare better on reading examinations when they return to school.
So that’s why we are offering this Summer Reading BINGO card – a fun, low-pressure approach to get your child reading all summer long! Whether they are reading to a pet, visiting the library or making a blanket fort with a great book, each square they complete is one step closer to starting the new school year strong. 🌟
Print it out, place it on the fridge and let the reading adventures begin! We can’t wait to hear what books your kids find this summer. 💛

🎉 That’s a Wrap, Bobcats! 🎉

We ended the school year with laughter, excitement, and a whole lot of whipped cream! 🥧

Our students earned tickets based on their AR points and got to vote for which teacher they wanted to see get “pied” in the face. The lucky participants this year were Mr. White, Ms. Shelby, Miss Wendling, Miss Kremer, Ms. Dittamore, Mrs. Brungard, and Mrs. House—and let’s just say, our students made some very enthusiastic choices! 😄

What a fun way to celebrate all of the hard work our students put into reading this year. We are so proud of their dedication and growth!

📸 Enjoy the pictures and have a safe, happy summer, Bobcats! 💙💛

When we are in school, we talk a lot about success. We celebrate when someone gets a 100% on a spelling test, or when someone runs the fastest lap in PE, or when a sports team wins a big game. And don't get me wrong—those are fantastic achievements, and we should absolutely be proud of them. Good grades are great. They show focus, they show study skills, and they are a wonderful reflection of academic dedication.
But I want to share a little secret with you all today: while good grades are great, they are only a small piece of the puzzle of life.
You can be the smartest person in the room, but if you don't know how to treat people with kindness, your impact will be limited. You can get a perfect score on a single test, but that test won't teach you how to pick someone up when they fall down.
Earning a Citizenship Award isn’t about being the fastest runner or getting the highest score. It is about character. It is about how a student treats others when no one is looking, how they handle challenges when things get tough, and how they contribute to making Beecher City Grade School a better place for everyone.
A good citizen is the heartbeat of a school; they are the leaders who lead by example, not just by words. They understand that a good attitude, a willingness to work hard, and a heart full of respect will take you all the way in life—much further than any report card ever could.
Our first recipient is a young lady who leads with kindness and integrity. She is a constant reminder of how much of a difference one person can make just by being a good friend and a dedicated student. She walks into a room and quietly makes it better, simply by being herself.
Our second recipient is a young man who sets the bar high for his classmates. His reliability, his steady work ethic, and his unwavering commitment to doing the right thing make him a true role model for our younger students. He is someone you can always count on, no matter what.
Congratulations, Falyn Hahn and Keaton Sutter!

Check out these waterpark designs from our Geometry students in Mrs. Tirevold's class. To bring their blueprints to life, students calculated the slopes, midpoints, and distances between attractions, proving that complex mathematical concepts have real-world applications.
